As Chief Learning Officer for PayPal, Derek partners with the Executive People Leadership Team and collaborates on a shared vision for enabling Learning and Development initiatives across the company.  As the global leader of Learning architecture, content, technology, and strategy, Derek serves as subject-matter expert for aligning PayPal's business priorities with the development of our people. Harnessing the full complement of past experience including demonstrated business acumen and analytics, leading-edge technological sophistication, a proven mastery of learning theory, and a performance consulting and scientific inquiry orientation, Derek passionately pursues world-class Learning for the entire PayPal family.  

Over the course of his twenty-plus-year career, Derek has held HR and Learning leadership roles with Phillips, GE, Pitney Bowes, Alcoa, Heineken, and Citi and has served on The Conference Board Leadership Development Council, the American Management Association National Training Council, and the Corporate Executive Board’s Learning and Development Roundtable.

Derek has been featured as a speaker and panelist at IMPACT, Convergence, ATD Regional and National conferences, SHRM Regional Student Conferences, and the Employers of Excellence Conference.
