Jim Williams, the Director - Talent & Organizational Effectiveness at Carpenter Technology Corporation, is a Global Award-winning Learning Advisor, Groundbreaking Author, and International Speaker. Before joining Carpenter Technology Corporation, Williams was the Director for Learning & Development at Elsevier.
Earlier, Williams was the Director of Learning and Development at CertainTeed Corporation, where he launched e-learning across the company in 2006 and reduced contract cost by 44% in 2008. Williams has been the President at Jim Williams Learning Paths, where he launched consulting practice based on Learning Path principles and methods while writing the book “Learning Paths: Increasing Profits by Reducing the Time It Takes Employees to Get Up-to-Speed” by Williams and Rosenbaum.
Prior to this, Williams was associated with General Electric (GE) for quite a few years. In his later years, he worked as the Chief Learning Officer, where he got promoted from the role of Director of Sales Effectiveness. He also served as the Manager, Training and Organization Development in the same company.
Before joining GE, Williams was serving on various leadership roles in IBM, and was progressively promoted to Advisory Education Requirements Planner.
He holds a master’s degree in Counseling from State University of New York College at Oneonta and B.S. Magna Cum Laude, Sociology from State University of New York College at Brockport.
