A perfect mix of creativity and academics- blended learning

A perfect mix of creativity and academics- blended learning

In a bid to give students personalized learning experience, schools are moving towards blended learning. It’s a mixture of face-to-face learning with digital instructions. According to the United States Department of Education, this mode of learning yield better results increasing the flexibility of learning experience for students.

Also called as “inverted teaching”, blended learning creates an engaging experience for students. Trainers usually fail to blend these two models in a perfect manner. Here’s how you can give a flawless mix of in-person and digital experience to learners-

  • Know your target audience-

If learners are from different areas, you might have to rely entirely on digital learning. Ask yourself; Are your learners tech-savvy? If not, you may need to come up with some interactive sessions to make them familiar with technology.

  • Be careful with your content-

Not everybody knows what information you want to impart. As learners, students might be looking for basic background information before sessions. It’s best to put up that information online so that learners can go through videos, articles and demonstrations among others.

  • Try to manage everything from one-on-one and group time-

The best training undoubtedly includes debates and group discussions to generate new ideas. But, at times, switching back and forth keeps learners engaged.

  • With blended learning approach, also try to blend formal and informal method of training-

Try to organize as many tests as possible but also, don’t forget to involve informal method of learning which includes team building and knowledge creation among others.

  • Try to learn both mediums-

Don’t make yourself expert in one and an amateur in another. Because sessions aren’t conducted on the basis of your level of expertise. Various factors are taken into consideration before going for one of these two.

Creating blended learning is more of creativity. Leveraging the experience of a professional wouldn’t do any harm. This one-of-its-kind approach demands a set of various skills- that improve with learning and practice.
